an acre of sunflowers.

a couple weeks ago we stopped at the arbor day farm in nebraska city specifically to see these beauties. they’re only fully in bloom for about a week, and we caught them at the perfect time. i’m a little bummed i forgot our big camera at home, but these iphone photos will have to do until next year. i just love seasonal things, things that you can only have or enjoy certain times of the year; it just makes them that much better when the time comes around. i’m looking forward to finally living in a place that really has all four seasons. as summer fades away, i’m getting pretty excited for octoberfest beers, wearing tights & boots, and all things pumpkin, how about you?

on the seasons changing.

sunset, oct 3

goodbye, summer. until next year, beers brewed with lemonade, perfect garden-fresh tomatoes, backyard dinners, and my favorite sandals.

hello, fall in tucson. you are more than just pumpkins and boots and tights and apple cider and slippers and finally being able to wear socks to bed.  a little bit of cloudy weather and lots of hot lattes are good for our souls. you are beautiful today and all the days, and you are bringing all the changes we need in our lives.

“there is an appointed time for everything,

and a time for everything under the heavens.
i recognized that there is nothing better than to rejoice and to do well in life.
i recognized that whatever God does will endure forever; there is no adding to it, or taking from it. thus has God done that he may be revered.
what now is has already been; what is to be, already is: God retrieves what has gone by”
