this weekend we fiiiiinally decided to get a garden started. we’re starting small – just scallions and brussels sprouts for now – to see how green our thumbs are. depending on the amount-of-dead-plants to amount-of-days-since-planting ratio, we might add a few more veggies once these sprout. per k’s suggestion, our two brussels sprouts plants have been lovingly named mr. brussels and mrs. sprouts, and i’ve been told it’s a contest to see whose plant can grow best. if i didn’t love brussels sprouts so darn much and wasn’t impatiently awaiting their readiness, some mr. brussels sabotage would probably be in order.
