in honor of this last day of 2012, i thought it might be fun to share 10 of my favorite posts from the past year. hope you all had a very merry christmas and have a safe, exciting new year’s eve tonight with your loved ones!
1. 2012.
our first annual [stop-motion] video dedicated to our goals and dreams for the new year. this was so much fun (and work) to make, and we’re excited to show you our video for 2013 hopefully later this week.
2. on health.

the announcement that we were moving to omaha!
4. a letter to my husband on our first anniversary.
a video letter to kevin on our one year anniversary last june.
5. {photography} aubrey + kevin: engaged.
aubrey + kevin were the first engagement shoot that we did; i’m so happy we were able to fit this in just before we left tucson for omaha.
6. {diy} wooden frame instagram display.
we did quite a few home improvement projects around our apartment this year, but i think this one might take the cake. we had a huge wall in our bedroom that we needed to liven up, and this definitely fit the bill.
7. {recipe of the week} open-faced roasted sweet potato sandwiches.
it was pretty hard to choose a favorite recipe from our blog from the past year, because i’ve loved pretty much every single one i’ve posted. but i chose this one because it’s something i came up with all on my own versus modifying a different dish. plus, anything with feta on top is bound the be fantastic, right?
8. the roasterie kansas city.
visiting the roasterie coffee shop in kansas city this november was one of my most memorable adventures of this year. it started off as just a trip to get some coffee beans and an espresso, but we had an amazing experience with their super-nice staff, snapped some of our favorite photos that we’ve taken, and were even asked by their marketing company if they could use our photos in their social media campaigns sometime. :)
9. introducing the hk in love design shop!
life hasn’t exactly gone how i’d planned since we got to omaha in may, but i’m proud of myself for continuing to learn new things and push myself creatively. i can’t wait to keep designing in 2013!
10. christmas rules, year two.
the second year that we’ve set up little categories for our christmas gifts. one of our favorite traditions and something that many people have told me they’ve adopted or modified in their own families after reading.
