exercising // i may have mentioned our favorite new workout site awhile back, but i’ll say it again here: fitnessblender.com. all of their videos are free to watch, but for $5.99 you can buy their downloadable 8-week workout plan. we’re on week 5 right now and loving it. it pretty much eliminates every excuse you can think of for not working out: their videos are fun, you need minimal or no equipment, they have videos as short as 5 or 10 minutes, and you can do them in the comfort of your living room. try one out!
studying // i broke out my 501 spanish verbs book yesterday and have been making conjugation flash cards. i really want to get back in the habit of practicing; i’m hoping to find a local conversation group to keep me accountable.
a few fun links from around the web:
this “salad” literally has like my three favorite foods: brussels spouts, pomegranates, and goat cheese. but wait! the goat cheese is fried? even. better.
a great use for your leftover coffee grounds (unless you compost).
a recipe i’d like to try this weekend: squash + goat cheese empanadas. sorryimnotsorry about the goat cheese overload in today’s post. i made empanadas by hand while in the dominican republic once before, but never at home. excited to give it a try!
i’m still loving the white string lights we put up in our kitchen for christmas, so much that i’m thinking about buying another strand to put up in our bedroom. i love the ideas in the photos here and here.
do you have any fun plans for the weekend? today is supposed to be 52 degrees (is this really january?!), but it’s back down to a high of 25 for the rest of the weekend, so i’ll probably just stay bundled up reading the rest of my kinfolk magazine and drinking lots of tea. happy weekend, friends!
p.s. if you missed our 2013 new year’s video earlier this week, check it out here. it was pretty epic.
